Fennington Livestock Tracker ("the App") is provided by Fennington Apps. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how data is handled. This Privacy Policy applies to users worldwide and explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Animal records, breeding notes, egg logs, health entries, financial data, and related farm information you enter are stored locally on your device. We do not sell this data and do not use it for advertising. This data remains under your control at all times.

1.2 Account and Personal Information

No account is required for core use of the App. If you choose to use optional account-based features (such as cloud backup or cross-device sync), we may collect limited personal information such as your email address and name. This information is used solely to provide those services.

1.3 Technical Data and Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics to collect limited technical data to improve the App's reliability and performance. This includes:

  • App performance metrics
  • Feature usage statistics (aggregated and anonymized)
  • Device information (e.g., device model, operating system version)

This technical data is anonymous and aggregated. We do not collect personal farm records for analytics purposes. The data is processed by Google LLC in accordance with Google's privacy policies.

2. How We Use Your Information

2.1 App Data

App data you enter is stored locally on your device and used solely to provide the App's functionality. We do not access, analyze, or use this data for any other purpose.

2.2 Technical Data and Analytics

We use technical data and analytics to:

  • Improve App stability and fix bugs
  • Understand which features are most used to guide development
  • Monitor App performance
  • Ensure the App works correctly on different devices

3. Legal Bases for Processing (EU Users)

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we rely on the following legal bases for processing personal data:

  • Legitimate Interest: To improve App performance and stability (technical diagnostics and analytics)
  • Contractual Necessity: To provide account-based features you choose to use

Locally stored app data remains on your device until you remove it. Technical data and analytics are retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy or as required by law. You can delete app data at any time by uninstalling the App or using in-app delete/export controls.

9. Analytics Controls

Technical data collection through Firebase Analytics is enabled by default to help improve the App. Analytics collection is active and cannot currently be opted out.

If analytics controls are added in a future release, this Privacy Policy will be updated with exact steps.

10. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When updates are made, we will revise the effective date on this page. For material changes, we will provide notice through the App or other appropriate means. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
